Valentine's Day Discount

Sunday, February 24, 2013

Shortly after my wife called and reminded me that Valentine's Day was just one day away, I caught the hint.  We laughed because flowers are so fleeting that it is not customary for me to follow tradition and pay higher prices to conform to a Valentine’s Day tradition–I give in other ways and at other times…ALL YEAR ROUND.

However, for some reason, I realized that, although her words suggested she was only kidding, she should not go “unrecognized by her spouse” while her co-workers will all be receiving these amazing floral arrangements tomorrow at work.

Since the flowers are fleeting, the card seals the memory. I always try to make it a special keepsake.

Here's what I wrote:

Sue,

Twenty years together
And, all that we’ve been through
Twenty years together
And, I am so in love with you

Twenty red roses
Sent from my heart
Twenty red roses
A promise we’ll never part

You are my lover
You are my best friend
We will be together
Until the very end

Ur4eVaMan

Who would have ever guessed that the florist was so touched, she knocked  $15 off the cost for me, and put it first in line for delivery promptly at 9:00 am.   I appreciated that so much and thought this would be worthy of sharing.

I know what my payoff is and will be as a result of that card. SO go ahead… I authorize plagiarism, except Ur4eVaMan, that’s mine!

Share the love.
